During my time at Total Flight Solutions, I worked as an Aircraft Mechanic in a fast-paced flight school maintenance shop that also supported open-house maintenance, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on high-use training and customer aircraft. Responsibilities included inspections, troubleshooting engine and system issues, completing repairs, and replacing aircraft components while maintaining strict adherence to FAA regulations and safety standards, including CFR Part 135 operations. I worked closely with pilots and instructors to ensure aircraft readiness and reliability while minimizing downtime through efficient maintenance practices.
Gained experience across piston, turbine, and pressurized aircraft, including aircraft operated under part 135 and maintenance on a Robinson R66 with the Rolls-Royce 300 turbine engine. Performed work on airframe structures, powerplants, hydraulics, and avionics systems, including sheet metal and composite repairs, corrosion control, system troubleshooting, and electrical diagnostics.
Utilized technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, illustrated parts catalogues (IPC), and maintenance manuals to ensure accurate maintenance procedures. This role strengthened my technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and performance in high-demand aviation environments, and provided the experience necessary to qualify for and test for my Airframe and Powerplant certificates, which I am very grateful for.
My Goals
In the near future, I aim to transition into the turbine and jet aircraft sector, whether within a service center, MRO environment, or Part 121 operations. I am highly motivated by the opportunity to work on turbine-powered aircraft and continue advancing my technical expertise in more complex aircraft systems. My goal is to build a long-term career with a company where I can grow professionally, contribute meaningfully, and ultimately remain until retirement. With the completion of my degree, I plan to further develop my career path toward roles such as Lead Inspector and/or Maintenance Manager.
